I used to use one of these in the T67M Firefly. It was a locally produced 'bodge' job which was terribly unreliable. One of my initial solo trips culminated in me joining using a 'speechless' procedure and receiving the radio failure calls and signals from ATC. I wouldn't recommend trying to make your own!
I think I've seen them in the TransAir catalogue. We used to call them splitter leads but I think TransAir call them Military to NATO headset plug connectors (or something similar).

Thanks for the replies.
The cost of the socket, plugs and cable comes to about the same as an off the shelf adapter so its not worth messing about with a soldering iron.
I will just have to put one on my list to Santa!

Not sure if they do them but try Eddie at Microavionics.
As well as strobes & strobe kits, interfaces, headsets, helmets etc, they do various adaptors for headsets, and i noticed they advertise a GA adaptor.
if they don't do them they might know somewhom does - Thier website is
www.microavionics.co.uk
Tell him Lord Nick sent you.

Not sure whether you're still looking mate but flightstore (
www.flightstore.co.uk
) have a sale on at the moment. I was oop north for the festive season and popped into the shop. Saw loads of adaptors and thought of you.
