Can anyone remember the Indiana Jones film which started with our beloved hero running away from the baddies to a float-plane upon which his mate was fishing.  It was a single-engine, bi-plane similar to a Boeing Stearman.  Does anyone know what type of aircraft it was?

Hi Capt. Phil,

The film was Raiders of the lost ark and Indiana Jones escaped from the Hovitos with the assistance
of Jock's two seated float plane which was a Waco UBF-2.

Now here's a question. Is a float plane a boat that can fly, or an aeroplane that won't sink?  Grin

Hi all,

You may all know already, but Harrison Ford is a private pilot of considerable experience himself and is licenced for fixed wing and rotary. He has owned many aircraft inculding a Waco. Among others, he also owns a De Havilland Beaver, Cessna Citation CJ3, Beech Bonanza B36T3 and a Bell 407. Lucky chap, but then you'd do the same if you had his money  Grin , I know I would  Wink

Pleasant chap old Harrison.

I remember one day walking along down Long Beach, Ca, probably about 1800 local time there, it was relatively quiet, but warm (as usual!)

This chap on a bike is cycling along heading towards me, it was a fairly wide sidewalk there for walking & cycling. As he gets closer I'm looking starting to think I feel like I know him from somewhere, suddenly it hits me, its only Harrison Ford!  I smiled entertained by this sight, he grinned back at me as he sailed past on his metallic steed...

Hi fellow pilots,

Just wanted to alert you all to this great film that's on next week. Most of you will probably have seen it I'm sure, but if you haven't, then it's well worth recording and watching.

FIVE US (digital channel) Wednesday 11th February 5.00pm "Mercy Mission: The rescue of flight 771"

It's based on a true story and features a couple of Cessna A-188 Ag.Wagons. A great aviation film in every sense.
